Molded Metal

Molded Metal is considered to be anything cast, die cast, forged or other processes that don't start as a billet or block of metal.  Many of the parts include machining operations as would be expected.  The weight of the part ranges from ounces to hundreds of pounds; sizes range from inches to meters.

Machined Parts

Machined Parts may be anything cast, die cast, forged or starting from billet.  Often these are completely machined on all surfaces.  Sizes are inches to meters, weight is ounces to hundred of pounds.

Molded Plastics

Molded Plastic includes most any form of molding - injection, blow-mold, vac-formed plastics.  Some of the parts/forms are rigid or structurally sound and don't require support outside of the datums, others are more flexible and often require additional support to maintain the form or resist deflection during the measuring process or just to resist the effects of gravity.  All can be accommodated within the Omni Structures system and the appropriate selection of components and techniques.

Stamped Parts

Stampings take many forms, all are candidates for the Omni Structures system. Fixtures for thicker gauge materials often utilize construction methods like many of the cast
parts. Thinner sheetmetal may require auxillary support points to resist deflection and/or gravity. Sometimes the part needs to be held in position to reflect the design intent. Large appliance and office furniture parts often need to be supported just to maintain the expected shape, some autobody panels benefit with wider support as well. Omni Structures provides the needed solutions.

Gauging & Testing

Simple to complex gauges are a unique application for the Omni Structures fixturing system.  Gauges for single dimensional tests are often a few components away from being built out of the box.  The more complex require specific design and components.  The greatest benefit may come from testing one or two dimensions to sort for conformance or to test theories.

Other

This is the collection of parts & fixtures that need to be shown but just don't fit well in the other catagories.  Sizes, shapes, designs, materials or whatever Omni Structures can hold it but we won't be sure how until we see it.  There's always a way!
